Cheap Cleaning Rod Issue?
Hi all. I got a one piece .22 cleaning rod from Walmart. On the end of it is a little adapter that screws on so you can put different size accessories on it. The problem is that is a little larger than the rod itself, is made of some kind of cheap alloy and has a waffled type surface for grip. I could feel it dragging the inside of the barrel and it made me nervous. I measured it and it is .210 wide. Should I worry about this scoring the barrel and go get a better one with a brass fitting? Thank you.

What material is it?
The knurling is there to help you with gripping the adapter so you can change the tips. If it is polymer, brass or aluminium, I wouldn't worry about it. Zinc is rather soft, but I suspect that it will break over time.
