Bird Hunting trip suggestions
My dad and I for the past five years have gone on a father/son fishing trip on the San Juan river in
New Mexico. However, due to the fires, and schedules we were not able to go this summer. What we are looking for now is a good place to hunt birds somewhere in S. Texas. We want to stay on the Texas side of the border but have access to Mexico. Someplace with good food and a good place to stay is also something we would like. The amount of time would be leave on a Fri. and come back either late Sunday or early Mon. Do any of you all know of such a place? If, so any info will be greatly appreciated. |

The problem ( or not depending on who you are) with Texas is most of the land is privately owned. There are public lands on which to hunt, but compared to all the land in Texas, it isn't much. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has a website. Go there and see if you can either see online public hunt areas or order the free pamphlet that shows public areas. You need to find out what areas you can have access to, then make a decision on where to go.
