AR accessories
OK, so I finally built my RRA CAR A4. I put a Hakko red dot on it. I went and shot it and it performed flawlessly. I put a Badger tactical latch on it, which I like.
What are some other things to improve on this platform? I want to get a rear BUIS and a new grip. Any recomendations on which ones? Not interested in the forward pistol grip because of how I hold it. Also not interested in the many, many add ons (lights, lasers etc...). More of things like the oversized mag release. Are they any better than what is on there? Oversized bolt release? Other improvements? Here it is by the way:

Good looking rifle you got there. For a pistol grip I would highly recommend looking at the Magpul MIAD grip. Its the most comfortable and user adjustable grip I have found. For a BUIS I like the ones made by Knights Armament, but they are a little pricey. Hope this helps.

Optical sight, (if you want one) sling, spare magazines, and case. The rest of the krap is for the teen-age "tacti-Kewl" crowd.

Troy and ARMS both make very good BUIS's.
The pistol grip is very much a personal preference. I prefer the Ergo grips, personally. That's what I have on all of my AR-15's. Other than that, I prefer a good optic, MANY spare magazines, LOTS of ammo, maybe a light, and of course a good quality, versatile sling like the Summit Tactical Sling.

I took the optic off of mine and went back to the carry handle. I have a Hogue pistol grip, MI 2 piece 4-railed handguard. Bravo Company vrtical fore grip, and Surefire light. This is all on a DPMS AP4.

Rob96 - Do you have a picture of yours with the MI hand guard? A two piece is my only option since I have a permanent flash supressor and I was curious what that one looks like on a rifle.

I could not decide between a red dot or a scope so I put both by using a DPMS Tri Mount, seriously. josh
