I guess I'm going back to the .410. whatever it is that's messing up my clotting factor won't let me shoot even reduced 20ga loads from the shoulder. So my scores will go down, but cost of shooting will too (You gotta reload if your shooting the .410bore). And it will keep me in the game for a while longer.

My first shotgun was a Stevens Mod. 59 tube fed, bolt action 410. It put lots of rabbits, and squirrels on the dinner table. One of these days I'll find one while perusing the gun shows, pawn shops, and LGS to replace the one sold many years ago!

my first gun was a double barrel 410. wish I had it today. Bought a snakecharmer years ago, wife uses it for snakes. Love the 410. Been looking at a Bond arms in 410 for pocket rocket.

Wished I'd had my .410 hady the other day. Got a big rat on my back porch with just a Daisy BB gun. Gutshot. He scurried off and all I could think was "damn I wish my lakehouse was on two more acres". Gotta have five acres or more to shoot on your property here. Except of course air rifles. That rat was lucky that there was a law

I love my 410's I have several of them from Rem 1100 auto to single shot snake charmer. It's a perfect gun for small game birds in the north here. Grouse, Sharpies, Woodcock. I have even used a 410 pheasant hunting. I have been using one for over 35 years. I have tried many shotguns and it is by far my favorite. Light no recoil and with the right choke and barrel they carry out just as far as a 20gauge.

My 1st gun was a .410 Mossberg bolt single shot, dove & squirrels feared it. LOL Presently only have a Siaga, but would love to find an old pump to add to the collection.

Yep, it sure separates the real shooters from the wannabees. This thread has been about .410-bore shotguns, but Skeet .410-bore events are won by tubed big guns. Back in the day, I had a handsome .410 O/U Skeet gun, but my straights were few and far between. The light little gun was quick to get on target and just as quick to lose it. A tubed gun is much smoother.

I've had a love affair with the .410 as a concept, and owning many different versions as a result, for almost 40 years now.

IMO, a .410 is one of the best woodswalking guns one can have - light to carry & light to shoot.

My latest is a primo Remington 11-48 I bought last weekend, but prior to this one, I've had a laundry list, bought/owned one-at-a-time (and loved them all, except for the new Turkish Savage O/U).

I do love 410s though. we have a really old 410 break barrel than my great grand dad had handed down to him that i don't think had ever missed a squirrel.

I thought I was the only one around with a Bay State .410. It's been in my wife's family since the beginning of time. As with many, the toe of the stock departed long ago. It in a closet somewhere around here, and I can't remember the last time it was fired (late '60s?).

My 20 y.o. grandson likes it better than any other of my guns, excepting the .45ACP Remington 1911 R1 - even more than the 10/22 he wanted, & I gave him, for his 1st hunting license, about 8 years ago.

I just like it 'cause it's a feather.

It seems I'm liking my guns lighter & slimmer, now that I'm older & fatter.
