1858 EMF conversion

does anyone know if the 1858 Emf conversion cylinder is six shots? it say the kirsts are six shots but all the gated 1858's I've seen were all five shots. also does anyone know if you have to have an ejector on the converted 1858 to get the shells out? thanks

I don't know the answer but I'm gonna guess. The gated 1858 cylinders are only made by Kirst. The six shot cylinder for the 1858 is patent protected by R&D because of the method used (angled chambers). Therefore Kirst would have to negotiate a deal with R&D to use their patent. The cylinder on a 1858 just doesn't have the diameter needed to straight bore all six chambers through for 45 Colt cartridges. I'm guessing you could use a wood dowel to help pop out the spent brass. An ejector would be more convenient though.
