Model 19 problems

I have a 4" mdl. 19, pinned and recessed; one day while playing with it it stopped revolving. and yes, the loads were too hot. anyhow.....it doesn't seem to be dragging on the forcing cone. the cylinder is screwed on tight, and does not appear to be bent. my thoughts are the firing pin is dragging on the hole; any thoughts or in put would be helpful.

P.S. just because your local gun doctor says he knows smiths, doesn't mean he does my mdl 19 is going back to the factory very soon:mad

Are you able to open the cylinder? Does it turn when it is out of the gun, or are you just stuck closed and frozen? If the latter is the case, shine a light sideways through the bottom of the frame and see whether the bolt is refusing to retract when you try to cock it? With very hot loads in N-frame 45 LC's, it was observed that because the chamber wall is very thin at the bolt notch, that the hot loads actually expanded the chamber wall outward at the notch. This, in turn, would affect the bolt lock-up and might jam it in place by preventing it from positioning for retraction. If other equally hot loads were going through the gun, look at the exposed bolt notches an see whether any have bulged out, or if they are properly concave at the bottom?

thanks uncle

the cylinder opens, and spins freely when open with no obvious problems;
the hammer is difficult to cock tho; there doesn't appear to be any end shake, and it locks up tight.
for what its worth, when the hammer is being drawn back, the hand seems to be dragging on the cylinder; thanks guys...any opinions and thoughts on this is greatly appreciated. I love my old 'smith.
