colt 1903 engraving

I'm buying a colt 1903 in a few days, it's not in the best condition(looks-wise but is in good working condition) but the price is right and I've always wanted one. How much would it affect the value to have it engraved and refinished?

Depends on who you're selling it to. Generally speaking, any kind of tampering with an older gun will knock down the value considerably.

If you like engraved guns, as I do, have it engraved. 1903 Colts are far from rare, so the resale value is probably a negligible consideration.
