Humidifiers for primers?

I've heard that primers can be real sensitive to static discharge and that some people store them with humidification. It gets quite dry here in the winters (central IL) and humid in the summers. Should I think about humidification for indoor storage of primers, or should I just leave that for my cigars?

It gets quite dry here too in Montana, but I'm sure you're fine as I don't do anything special to mine haven't for 30 years and no misfires yet. I just keep them in their original containers and keep em dry.

primers and humidity

Try to keep your stuff at under 40% humidity. all your stuff will last for years that way. I have pulled 30-06 out of a bunker in the desert that was stored before I was born, I'm retired, it worked. I guess I should mention this ammo was packed for use in an '03. I can't recall the head stamp. but it was old and we had a ball "testing" it in M1s.

I just started loading with my fathers equipment. Found some primers over 20 yrs old used em in my 44 mag with no problems. They were stored in a plastic box inside for most of their life, outside (in louisiana) in a plastic box for over a year. If humidity affects em it probably woulda happened to those ones.......
