Info on Walther .22 Trainer?

Hi New to Forum, looking for help to get some general info on a rifle and rough value. It's a German Walther .22 Long Rifle, K98 Type trainer. Receiver has "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella Mehlis Thurigen". Barrel has Wather Banner with SportModel in German. Serial Number range is 42,8xx with "W" suffix. No provision for cleaning rod, Stock has metal stud for sling attachment at slot. All matching, insude of stock has last three numbers written in pencil. Right side of stock has "20/III" in red enameled paint. Straight eagle over "N" proofs on barrel, receiver and bolt. High polish blue finish, bore excelent.

Only negative is previous owner did not take care of it and there is pitting on last three inches near muzzle end. I bought it to save it from further deterioration. So looking for rough production date and value with pitting, and some background on these. Thank you, Mark.
