Desert Eagle : 50 vs 44 mag recoil spring?

So, I've had a DE for a long time now, using 50 ae and 44 magnum barrels. I've used the same recoil spring for both. I recently noticed that Magnum Research has a separate "44 magnum recoil spring tuneup kit" available.

This got me wondering, are you supposed to have a different recoil spring by default for the 44 magnum barrel? It's been some time now, but I don't recall any instructions on switching springs when I bought the second barrel. The 44 mag has always been somewhat flaky for me - particularly with feeding issues. It seems plausible that this is because the 50 ae spring isn't getting fully worked by the 44 mag.

Any suggestions here?

What you're saying makes sense to me. The 50 AE spring is higher tension than the 44 Mag spring because it needs to be. 44 Mag doesn't generate enough pressure to reliability cycle the action . I'd just get a dedicated 44 mag spring and be done with it.
