How much does a staple weigh?

I know that there are a million variables, but about how much?

1gr...1/10th etc?

just a generic paper staple that comes from your desktop stapler.

I am curious as to how sensitive my scale is.

My 505 Ohaus says between .5 and .6 grains. FWIW, a nickel will way 5 grams. My scale shows one particular nickel at 75.5 grains. Best-o-Luck

Why not count 1000 staples, weigh them, and then divide by 1000? (Unless you have a verrrry sensitive electronic scale and can weigh a single staple accurately.)

Of course, I think there's a sort of adhesive backing to a line of staples that holds them together. That may skew the overall weight of a coherent row of them...
