1911A2 Slides
I've been told that the slides of the 1911A2 Hicap model pistols need to be lubed more often that the regular 1911A1 models. Is the true. What is the best stuff to use.
Thanks in advance.

I've always used the Brownells "Action Lube Plus".
It's a good lube that holds on and gives good protection. It has some Moly in it as well as other lubes. It's like a light grease. For stainless, I think it called +P Stainless lube. Has worked well on my stainless weapons. There are lots of lubes out there and others may have suggestions as to what works for them. Part of the trick is to clean the lube after shooting and put fresh lube on. Dirt caught in the lube will act as an abrasive. If you are going to carry your weapon in a really dusty area, you might use a lighter lube. Best Regards, John K |
