Wrong bullet in the right mould
Just ran into something today that I've never seen before.
I just got my new Lyman 452651, 325 gr. FN GC mould and a Lee C430-310gr. GC Round nose Flat Point. Started moulding both bullets they were dropping just right but then something just didn't seem right. Then I relized the Lyman wasn't a flatnose but a Keith style. Miked the bullet and it is .431 further checking it looks like it's the Lyman 429650. The plastic storeage box is maked 452651 as is the mould itself. Anybody every run into this? I've got Lyman, RCBS, Saeco and Lee and all the others cast as marked. Turk |

Sounds like mis-mark after the block pair was finished.....then boxed to match the mark.
Should be no problem gettin it swapped out. Sam |

Wrong bullet
Back in the 80's I bought a 230 gr LYMAN mold for my 45 ACP. I got it home, casted a few, eighed the results and found the were 265 grains. I called LYMAN and they said return it to them for replacement.
This could be like some Lyman dies I bought that had a FLOATING DE-CAPPING PIN. |
