hornaday 30501 in 308win
Am quite new to reloading. Began with RCBS Master Kit, reloading 308win for remington 700vls (targets at a distance).
Ran out of Speer #2040 168gr hpbt match. Got some Hornaday #30501 168gr hpbt match. Would it be safe to substitute these directly using tables in the Speer manual? Else, can anyone recommend a load. Have on hand hodgdon h414 accurate 2460 -thanks |

well, shu, here it goles:
h-414 + 168 jhpbp.308 start load - 42 gr./max load - 48gr.(compressed) these data are from lyman. speeds should be around2270 for starting load, and2570 for maximum. I strongly and emphatically advise to try startin load first, and if you are not satisfied with the results, advance in half a grain increments, and double the atention if you approach tha max load. rifles are much more individual than fingerprints. |
