I am asking for THR members to help us out here in IL. All remaining gun shops in Cook county are being threatened by a proposed ordinance that has been getting a lot of attention. Aside from closing all remaining shops, the county would force residents to register all guns in their possession, and TURN IN any handgun that does not have a 'chamber load indicator'. Few if any handguns can comply with requirement.

The so-called 'Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance' appears on the surface to be some sort of gun registration scheme. However, closer examination reveals that this is a gun confiscation program. A program that will make all of Cook county as safe as Chicago. Yes, good old Chicago, the murder capitol of the USA.

Just voted, I grew up in Chicago. Gun laws are absolutely nuts there.
