Your favorite 1911

I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself. The 'favorite Glock' thread made me do it

No Glocks suck comments please. That war has been hashed over so many times.

You are allowed to say that you love the 1911 on this thread

I will admit that I have zero desire to own a glock and probably never will. That is all I will say about the glock.

I have two favorite 1911's. One I own and one I want.

The one I own is the Para Ordnance WartHog. It is my favorite gun. Period. It is unlikely that any other will take it's place in my heart.

The one I don't own is tied between two 10mm's. I want either a Colt Delta Elite or Dan Wesson RZ-10. I find them both to be lovely works of firearms art. If I could afford it (and that's not likely to happen for a while) I guess I'd buy both and/or a set of .40 S&W and .357 Sig barrels for added fun and caliber choices.

What's your favorite 1911?

My favorite is my Kimber Ultra Carry. The one I want to own is a Smith & Wesson Performance Center PC1911.

Of my current 20 1911's this DW CBOB is my favorite, even though some of the others cost 3X as much.

BTW I also owned 7 Glocks at one time.

I like my charles daly government issue in .45. Seems pretty accurate straight out of the box. As a new shooter I'm not the best to ask... low and left...but everything is consistently low and left.

I love the original 1941-1945 government manufacture 1911A1, I just can't bring myself to pay what they go for nowadays. So I guess I have to say my new Para Ordnance Slim Hawg.

My humble Colt 01091 – it’s been accurate and flawless out of the box. I have other Colts but I’ve made this my workhorse. (or workColt, if you will… sorry...)

This one.

Placed in my hands by the old master himself, Louis Seecamp back in 1974. It's been my constant companion since then.

Question for OJ

Nice brace of pistols!

I have an original Series 70 that I picked up in 73 or so... the only hitch in its gitalong is that spring-finger bushing. I don't fully trust it, but I've not replaced it yet. This is a part that I think I'd want to have fitted by a gunsmith.

Do you still have that style of bushing? How do you feel about it? If you replaced it, what did you replace it with? Drop-in, or fitted?

Thank you!

I have a Terry Tussey 1911 that hasn't experienced a stoppage since 1984.

I'd say that pistol at least is in the top ten...
