That AR makes the Golden AK look down-right conservative and tasteful!

Wasn't this thread supposed to be about the AK-12? Not the AK vs AR? I'm all for free speech and healthy debate but I'm pretty sure there is nothing healthy about the AR v AK debate anymore. Not since like 1990. The horse is DEAD! Dead dead DEADD!! And now it's rotting and starting to smell like a bag full of a-holes.

Just my $.02

Regardless of how you feel about the AK47, isn't it the most popular battle rifle?
Popular indicates a choice. Its whats available and been used, not sure how popular it really is with the users or if they even care.

Most widespread or most produced by orders of magnitude for sure. Tends to work without a question.

Can't argue with success though the world would be far better off without it.

Not to nitpick, throw stones, argue semantics yada yada, but the 1911 is far from a simplistic design. A Glock to AK and 1911 to AR comparison, IMHO, would be more accurate.
I think its pretty valid. The AK and the 1911 (in its original guise not the super accurate versions we have now) were both intended as reliable battle weapons.

Not all that accurate, but accurate enough and reliable in that they would take all he mud the blood the guts etc and keep firing.

a glock if you get that kind of good in the striker is going to quit working.

Perhaps the world would be far better off without those who typically fight with AK's, but I don't see how the world would be any better without a particular firearms design.
