Winchester Action Pistol

WAP is the best stuff I've found for loading 9mm and .40 cal., but was discontinued for reloaders by Winchester due to lack of sales, as I understand it.

Someone on the board mentioned some time ago that WAP was now being sold under another name, but I neglected to make a note of it. Anybody know what it is?

R. H. VANDENBURG COVERED THIS SUBJECT IN HANDLOADER MAGAZINE #224 AUG-SEPT 2003. www.handloadermagazine.com MIGHT GET YOU A COPY OF THE ARTICLE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

ACCORDIND TO MR. VANDENBURG AND PRIMEX THE COMPANY THAT PRODUCES SILHOUETTE THE DATA BETWEEN WAP AND SILHOUETTE ARE INTERCHANGEABLE.

I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT LOAD DATA BE USED IN THE OLD FAMILIAR FASHION. USE A STARTING LOAD FROM A MANUAL AND WORK YOUR WAY UP. THE AVAILABILITY OF NEW POWDERS AND BULLETS SEEMS TO CHANGE WEEKLY ANYMORE. EVERY TUESDAY THERE IS A NEW ONE.

BUT THE PRICE OF ALL THIS STUFF KEEPS ME OUT OF THE BARS AND OFF THE STREETS.

Appreciate the info. I'm down to my last several lb.s of WAP. Hard to imagine life without it.

I Know How You Feel. I Felt The Same Way When Hodgdon Stopped Making H-450. But I Learned To Get Along Without It.

not for sale

Even though I still have a few cans of WAP left , I can also suggest Vihtavuori's fine 3N37 and N350.

But they ain't WAP / Silhouette (rumor = slightly more flash-n-temp retardant in Silhouette; unconfirmed. But still likely. )
