I use birchwood caseys GUN SCRUBBER. Makes it like new. Gets it super clean. I thought it would eat the foam up, so i cut a small part off and tried it, turned out great. I use rcbs lube pads.

Soak the pad in a bucket of mineral spirits for a few days. Brush the surface with a retired toothbrush while it is still submerged. Take it out to dry for a week or so. Meanwhile, get a can of spray lube to use while it is soaking and drying. After the pad is dry, put it up for sale on e-Bay, because you're not going to want to go back after trying the spray lube.
For that matter, get a tin of Imperial Sizing Wax. Even that is less bother than the pad.

Soap and water, let dry for a couple days. Or, just sneak over to your local hobby store (I say hobby to avoid saying crafts, yikes!) and pick up a sheet of the same stuff. I bought a 4'x4' piece about two years ago and still have some left. I just cut it into peices to fit the case, flip it when it gets grungy to use the other side.

The RCBS lube is water soluble. I wipe it clean once in a while with a moist paper towel. Soap and water should work fine. If you can't get it cleaner, the dirt wont come off onto your brass, so don't worry.

Bought my last one for $5.00 at that price I assumed it was a "consumable" and you just bought another. Guess I was wrong but that's okay since I hate adding to the landfill!
