max OAL for .38 long colt?
anyone know what the MAX OAL for .38 LC, 158g RNFP lead cast bullet, with 3.2 g of Hodgdon Titegroup powder would be??

That's a revolver cartridge. If the bullet is seated deep enough for the cylinder to turn it's not too long.

I thought I put the official SAAMI COL in your other thread on this round, but I hadn't. It's there now. Instead I'd put the seating depth for a particular bullet. The SAAMI spec is 1.360" COL.

And the Wolfe book Illustrated Cartridge Reference Dimensions puts it at 1.325". So that's three sources with three results. Looks like checking the cylinder fit is going to be the practical measure. I keep meaning to buy the full set of SAAMI drawings, and I'm starting to think I should break out the credit card and do that.
