Your next 3 to 5 gun acquisitions planned?

Your next 3 to 5 gun acquisitions planned?

Yep, that's the question. Just a snapshot in time of some people's "in the market for" positions...

In order,

Guns:
-Tanfoglio Witness 6" Hunter 10mm
-T/C G2 frame with Bulberry 8" .357 max bbl with 12 twist
-RIA combo 2-stack 1911 in 9x19 and .22 TCM
-Marlin 1895 SBL .45-70 (possibly)
-some AR15 in 6.5 Grendel, 16" middy lightweight (possibly)

Just a reminder that this is a firearms forum, and bows, fun as they are, are off-topic here. (Sorry, UD.)

Yes, mine are. At the moment, here is the order

1. Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor
2. 20 gauge semi-auto shotgun
3. S&W 629
4. Another AR, this one built for precision shooting.

Ruger Bearcat.
With other projects on the table, that'll do for now.

Several years ago I put together an ordered wishlist with about 15 on it. Since several were out of production, like the Automag in .44, or just plain expensive I knew they were likely out of my reach. But a few were available at less than I expected.

And then there were the deals that were just too good...

Rather than acquiring more guns, I really need to sell some of my closet queens that I haven't shot in years.

As someone who does a lot of competition shooting, I have kind of dropped out of the gun arms race mostly because over the years I have slowly come to the realization that the world's most expensive trap shotgun isn't going to make me a champion trap shooter any more than a Stradivarius violin will make me able to play like Joshua Bell.

I had zero plans to buy any guns this year. That being, I joined a gun club that was part of the CMP and suddenly I could buy a H&R M1 Garrand so I simply had to order one.

Fast forward a few months and I really started to enjoy trap shooting. Of course while lots of generous folks let me shoot their guns, I needed my own and that led to a Beretta Silver Pigeon Sporting Over Under.

At this point, I have no gun plans for the next two years.

Most of my gun-buying plans went out the window when I married into a turn-key family.
A gun that I've been waiting for, for six years now, is the oft-rumored Vltor reboot of the Bren Ten. If it ever does make it to market, I'll get one.
Guns that interest me, though I don't know if they're interesting enough to actually "plan" to buy:

SIG P238 or P938
AR pistol (10mm?)
Colt New Frontier
Something that will accept a suppressor

I find it much more fun to wait until just before hunting season and start cruising the used fun racks at the local gun and pawns. Never know what some old timer or inheritee will shake loose and trade off. I'm much more interested in classic european sporting rifles than anything currently made so planning my long gun purchases in advance leads to frustration too much of the time.

But to join in the spirit of the thread I have one, maybe two purchases planned:

-An AR pistol. Configuration and specific parts yet to be determined although I know I will be using the Sig brace.
-Taurus Judge. Maybe. Mostly because I'm a nerd and want the Voice of Justice.

Yep, 45-70 lever gun. Leaning toward the Marlin. 308 BFR, Desert Eagle in 44 mag, and finally the little two shot derringer in 45-70.

Size matters!

Mel

I've already changed mine up:

-CZ 550 FS, 6.5x55
-Tanfoglio Witness 6" Hunter 10mm
-T/C G2 frame with Bulberry 8" .357 max bbl with 12 twist
-RIA combo 2-stack 1911 in 9x19 and .22 TCM
-Bison Armory 16" AR15 in 6.8 "BSP" (6.8 spc ii with 7 twist, for subsonic 200s)

Hon. Mentions
-Marlin 1895 SBL .45-70
-Benelli Montefeltro Silver 26" 20 ga
-Marlin 1894 round bbl .45 colt
-Savage 24c Camper's Companion .22lr / 20 ga
-Dan Wesson "Guardian" C-Bob 1911 in 9x19mm
-Rossi 62 pump 16" carbine .22lr
-PWS T3/Summit .22lr receiver, for a build

I bought a Henry lever carbine (16" but not youth) .22lr today but that may end up being a gift to my sister (unless today's Supreme Court ruling bans gifts of guns to others: http://america.aljazeera.com/article...wpurchase.html )

I'm pretty much done for the time being. Only thing I really am looking to buy is a semi auto 22 rifle to go with my Savage Mark II. Really want a Ruger 10/22, also considering a Mossberg 702 mainly for the price and since I'm mainly just planning on adding a red dot sight and calling it good.

I already have a Mossberg 500 Field/Home combo, SAR B6P, Savage Mark II FV, and a Crosman Vantage air rifle. Can't afford an AR like I would like, so a semi 22 seems to round it out.
