45 Colt

Hows it going,

I have a bunch of .451" 200 grain Round Nose FMJ bullets laying around and I have the Lee classic handloading kit and it says that I can reload a 200 grain 200 GR. HDY XTP at .452" with a full scoop of W231 (which is what I have).

So my question is do you think it would be safe and I wouldnt kill myself (or my roommate) if I load .451" 200 grain FMJRN with .7cc (7.5gr) of W231 for use in a Judge.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Steve

I think you should be safe with that load based on the data posted by Hodgdon. I have no idea how strong a Judge is, I would keep it loaded to standard 45 colt pressures as opposed to ruger level loads.

good luck

I'm not telling you to do it, but based on the data I have, I would try it out. Just keep your OAL at 1.6 min.
