Schmidt & Bender Question
I'm a Newbie here and i need some thoughts you have about a Schmidt and bender scope.
I Shoot a lot of different distances from 100-1000 yds and i'm looking at buying a new Schmidt and bender scope I had decided to buy a 5-25 PMII .01 mrad adjustments with D/T and FFP but then i saw a 12-50x56 PMII with .25cm adjustments multi turn elevation second hand nearly half the price. My question is that the windage on the 12-50x56 only has 16cm of adjustments on the wind which at 1000yds means i run out of wind adjustments at 8mph or so. is this right or have i got my sums wrong?? The 12-50 is way too much for any practical shooting. I use a 3-12x50 PMII for 1000 yard shooting regularly. It is actually my favorite S&B scope.
The 5-25 has 0.1 mil clicks not 0.01 mil. article | Practical Long-Range Rifle Shooting, Part II - Optics article | The State of Optics for Practical Long-Range Rifle Shooting [2009] article | The Hensoldt 4-16x56mm: How does it stack up? (abbreviated version) A 175 SMK at 2650 will have about 2.4 mils drift at 1000 yards with a 10 mph cross.
