What happens when a dyslexic goes to buy a handgun.
I did forum searches, google searches and read up on the Kahr PM9 for days. When a co-worker got back to work from a 2 week vacation I went by work on my day off to look at his PM9. Then I went to the gun store. They had a P9 in the case and next thing I knew I was filling out the papers and plunking down the long green.
I bought ammo and took it to their range and ran 50 rounds through it. No malfunctions whatsoever. I left and went back to the job to compare it with my co-workers pistol and only then did I realize I bought the wrong gun. I have the P9, not the PM9. Well the fat is in the fire and no bringing it back but to tell the truth I'm glad that I made the mistake. It is a bit longer in bbl length and grip but the same width. It holds one more round than it's smaller cousin and shoots very well. I ran 50 rounds of Remington range ammo through it and a couple of clips of Speer 115gr HP. I liked the trigger and the sights are easy for my old eyes to pick up. I'm going to go back tomorrow and run another 150 rounds through it as recommended by Kahr for break in. I won't be carrying this in my pants pocket as planned but no biggie. It is easily concealable and I can deal with the 21.8 oz. According to Kahr's comparison chart here there is only a 1oz difference between the PM9 and the P9 anyhow. |

I think you got a good deal.
I have an MK9 purchased long before the PM series was even a jumble of bits on the CAD computer. With proper feeding and handling, yours should be OK. Here's what mine does with 115gr ammo. Find what weight yours likes and stick with it.

In all honesty, it's not all that much harder to conceal it. In any case, if it's a toss-up between shootability and concealability, I'll go with the one that shoots better and work around it.
