Examining brass, part 2.
While I'm at it, thought I'd post some more brass questions. Here's some once-fired .50AE brass from my Desert Eagle.
  The gun is brand new and the ammo is straight from Magnum Research. I'm told that the little dings on the edge of the primers are from the ejector pin. But I'm a little concerned about the primer flattening and cratering of the firing pin indentation. Any thoughts on this? |

I don't see anything out of the ordinary here. I have the DE 44mag. They do seem to be a bit on the hot side but you can't always tell that way on pistol cases. The DE is a tough gun and if that was factory ammo I wouldn't worry about it.

50 AE is hot stuff and those are just pressure signs. When there is no dimple in the primer but just a hole then worry.
