Hogue overmolded mini-14 stock metal liner questions.
i just got a Hogue overmolded mini-14 stock, it didn't come with a metal liner, but i installed it without it, was this a good idea?, from the reviews i read most put the liner in, but from looks of the stock there doesn't seem to have the room for the liner, has anyone have experience with this stock?, thanks.

I have one on my Mini-30, a 581 series. I put the liner in mine. I imagine it would work fine without it but the hot gases may be rougher on the plastic than the aluminum. The Hogue stock is really an improvement to the feel of the rifle in my opinion.

It was put there for a reason..to protect the plastic and your hand. If it wasn't needed they won't have included it.
