Taurus 357 Mag 8 shot revolver moonclipped

I not long ago bought a Taurus 608 357 Magnum Revolver 8 Shot which is moonclipped. I cannot for the life of me find any moonclips that will fit, I was told when i bought it that S&W Moonclips fit as they are machined the same but they don't, they go 3/4 the way in and get stuck. I have measured both and there is a difference between the two Taurus is a couple of thou bigger.

Can somebody let me know what i can do?

Contact Ranch Products - they make moonclips and sell the S&W 8-shots for $50/50 shipped for S&W - they may also have the Taurus size. Also, '5starfirearms.com' makes an eight shot Al speedloader and 2 x 8 hole Al reloading base plate for ~$32 + s/h - sized for the Taurus. The S&W such speedloader works well with all cases in .38 & .357M - the moonclips are 'picky', to say the least.

Thank's guys i will give them a shot, I do use 38 special and have to use Remington Brass as they are the only ones that fit the moon clips with ease.

I'm confused ... I have a Taurus 617 which doesn't use moon clips .. why design a revolver for the .357 round that uses them? is is simply speed of reloading? wonder how much time you might save in a crisis over a speedloader?

Does that mean it was machined for moon clips? Because I thought they didn't come that way from the factory.

Yes it was machined to fit, I bought it 2nd hand and was told S&W were supposed to fit. I bought some new ones from Brownells and got them shipped here to Aus, waste of money that was. They only went in 3/4 of the way and got stuck.

I do ICORE Competitions and the moonclips i find are far more user friendly when running around the range. I can usually reload with moonclips around 3.5 seconds.

Glad I got a Smithy. www.midwayusa.com has some goofy rubber speed loader, but I'd more or less call them easy loaders. I never tried them with any type of lube but that might make them work easier. They come in two pack's.
