Ithaca Flues 4E

I've got an Ithaca Flues I am trying to put a price on. Very clean with bright bores. There is a small rub on the center rib and a small chip on the side of the butt plate. Other than that it is beautiful. Anyone have any thoughts?

I was offered 1600 for it 7 years ago with just a crappy picture on the internet. Makes me wonder what it may be worth now. As far as selling it; that will depend on how much more money I need for my wifes "honey do " list.

try the folks at doublegun.com or shotgunworld.com - there are a lot of folks who know those guns - they will probably want pictures of the proof marks as well to help them help you..

BTW - IMO, awesome looking gun...good luck

A 4E Flues, in that condition, if all original, should bring $2200 to $2700.. JFC

Those are asking prices, not selling prices. $3950 is about right for a 20 bore NID Ithaca..JFC

true, Kind of like fishing....

I have a couple other doubles I am wondering about also. D. Kirkwood and a W.W.Greener, they are damascus and both over 100 years old I believe.

I found a reference by Charles Askins that mentioned D. Kirkwood was an old-time expert gunsmith of the kind that is now becoming rare.

Thanks John. I posted the Kirkwood on doublegun dot com a few months ago and Bill McPhail gave me a little history on David Kirkwood. Its serial# is 1001. This kind of makes me wonder if it is the first or one of the first shotguns he made.

It really is a beautiful shotgun in what I feel is excellent shape. Especially for a weapon made over 125 years ago.

It really is a beautiful shotgun in what I feel is excellent shape. Especially for a weapon made over 125 years ago.

I posted it in a thread below and got no rsponses. Must be something that very few people know about.
