Carry a firearm from the US to Venezuela?

I am considering making a trip down to Venezuela sometime, driving the whole way. I wanted to know if anyone here had ever traveled across so many boarders with a firearm? Would I be able to do it?

I don't think you can take a gun into Mexico much less the rest of Central America

Forget it. You'd be committing a felony at the first border.

I have been reliably informed that none of the countries through which you would be passing have prisons that might be confused with a five-star hotel.

Of course, if you decide to try packing heat on your trip, you can probably let me know if that information is correct. If I am still around when you get out.

Frankly, I have no idea why you would want to go through the trouble and hassle of driving down. I hope you at least speak good Spanish and have some local help available if you get in trouble.

since the prisons get worse the further south you go i would not attempt this. mexican boarder officials love to lock up gun running americans, well they will accuse you of gun running.

And that says it all. Pursuing this any further probably isn't the best of ideas, so let's not.

Closed.
