Two holser questions
1. I hear a lot of mixed things about shoulder holsters...I've never had one.
2. Anyone used the Galco USA or UDC IWB holsters? Those of you who have used them, what's your opinion? EDIT: Dang...won't let me edit the title...please forgive my typo...I do know how to spell holster. Last edited by Murdoch; October 5, 2007 at 11:29 AM. Reason: I Type too fast |

We sell both but the Ultra Deep Cover is much more popular. I started using one myself about six years ago to carry my Springfield Ultra Compact and I'm a believer.
The slight extra width due to the reinforced holster mouth is not an issue unless 1/8" is going to make you look a lot bigger.

Shoulder holsters are good if you will be in a confined seated postion for an extended period of time.(like in a car) Beside being easier on the hip...IMHO your draw will be faster. When you are seated in a vehicle it can be difficult to draw your weapon from a belt holster...more so if you are behind the wheel...with a shoulder holster its a snap.

For shoulder holsters, I've found Galco's "Miami Classic" (a.k.a. the Jackass Rig) the most comfortable shoulder holster I've ever worn. I can wear a fully loaded Commander-sized 1911 with 2 loaded mag pouches on the opposite side for 8 hours without getting cramps, muscle kinks, chaffed or sore.

I agree...the Galco Miami Classic is very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it. I had a nylon shoulder holster for a while but the leather Miami Classic is much more comfortable.

Wore a Miami Classic for some time - if you do, get the double offside mag pouch to balance it out. If you get a singlesided rig, make it a light sidearm.
Gave mine away many years ago, too uncomfortable and clumsy. |

I use the Desantis Terminator shoulder holster for my 460V - Works great for this big rig gun!

+1 for the Miami classic...really good leather and more comfortable than others. Get the offside attachments to balance it.
