Latest Claire on the Police

Very well done and a must read, IMHO.

She's a keeper, that's for sure!

Just got my SWAT today and read Claire's aricle...good stuff

There was also some mail to the editor for a Guy in Argentina that made some pretty good reading.

I'd like to post her article into every police-related thread in L&P that devolves into: "Civilians must obey my author-i-tie" vs. "All you cops are jack-booted thugs."

There is a middle ground; and responsible peace officers and citizens alike should strive for it. Ms. Wolfe's article alone is worth the price of the magazine!

Red lights and siren, you pull over simple.

So is that an invasion of your rights? I am a citizen of the United States and do not need to comply because in my opinion you are a thug. LOL...
Wait a minute that was an ambulance and you just caused an accident so now they have to send another for you and the person they were going to help in the first place.

I am waiting with baited breath to read this article. I have got to say I think it is going to be a good one considering the recomendations.

+1 Dave! It's so simple, and yet there are so many that just don't get it .

Please let me have your lic, or I'll break your neck any problem there?

Captain Charlie it is not the middle ground as stated, that is the problem it is the high and low that are hard to take.

Just like in anything where you are at opposites, I believe that many on this board are very much a facade. It does get old. Some on here or other boards are living their other life. LOL, Kinda sad.

I think we're shooting at the same target, Harley. I'm tired of folks that are just plain prejudiced against blue, and I'm tired of cops that can't handle the weight of the Badge without leaning on other people. When either happens, both sides loose (when there shouldn't be "sides" at all). But when cops & folks come together, there's nothin' we can't do .

I have only had 1 semi negative experience with law enforcement. However, it went back to totally positive when the Sr. Partner reprimanded his partner and told him he needed to go sit in the car and gave him a time out. The other guy was a total proffesional. I could have filed a complaint, but based on the other officer's behavior I think his partner recieved another cavity in his backside.

+ 1 Capt. Charlie

Only problem is there isnt enough men in blue who believe what you do. Do to a lack of funds in alot of places, the PD, and FD are put in bad situations. Bad situations caused by lack of officers for back up, lack of equiptment and most of all a NEED to keep politics out of our station houses. If the chief has aspirations of mayor, he can put the public and his troops at great risk.
