Pedretti & Sons 1874 Hartford
Need an action spring for my Pedretti & Sons 1874 Sharps replica imported by EMF. Internet search so far has produced nada. Just got this rifle shooting fairly well and it snapped while I was trying some new loads in the chamber. Any suggestions?

Finally found a possible source, anybody ever purchased from VTI in CT? Found an original Sharps mainspring @ Dixie Gun Works but I'm not sure it will work, looks a bit different.

VTI Replica gun parts came through with a (close enough) mainspring. Took a bit of filing and grinding but it works. Every screw in the trigger/sear system was loose, Thinking pretty hard about making some new friends in Big Timber, MT.

Glad to hear you're back in bidness! I ordered a .45ACP cylinder from VTI for a 1875 Remington Army Outlaw. They got it to me in short order with no fuss and no harsh words my mamma wouldn't approve of. I'd order from them again if the situation should arise.

The folks in Big Timber will build you the best rifle this side of the Rockies and beyond.
I could get rid of all my whiz bangers and just keep my Shiloh's. |

Folks in Big Timber have too many ways to build beautiful rifles. Caliber and buttstock are only decisions I've been able to make. Getting close on barrel length and forend treatment. Sights good for past 300 yds would be a waste for me but wood grade, barrel contour and metal treatment are hard to nail down.
Oh, yeah. Writing that check and waiting are gonna be tough too!
