CH-4D Dies - Experience?
Never owned a set of these. Never really heard of them either.
I'm watching an auction for a used set in 35 Whelen. Just want to know if anyone knows about or has experience with these dies. Thanks

I own C&H dies in sets that were made in California, they cam in fiber display boxes, I also have C&H dies made in OHIO. I have presses, one is a shotgun press, everything is cast Iron and appears to be powder coated. It has never been used.
If I needed a part for an old die regardless of brand, I would call C&H. F. Guffey |

I buy all kinds of useless dies off Ebay*, like this CH 44 mag sizer, never used it.
Ok, I just used it and... compared it to an RCBS carbide sizer. The CH looks like a good die, but the RCBS works better..... probably the carbide. *The wife had the nerve this week to ask me if actually use any of those dies I am buying..... well I have now.

They're great if you decide to get into improved or wildcat chamberings. At least that was so a while back.

I have at least half a dozen black die boxes on my bench as I reload and shoot a number of obsolete and odd rifles. If it was not for CH, I would not be able to bring these rifles back to life.
Their dies are very well made and their CS is great. |

My father-in-law swears by them. They are less expensive than RCBS and higher quality (not complaining about RCBS dies). And best yet, if you are looking for a set for a black powder caliber (e.g. 32-20, 38-55), CH will have them, which RCBS might not.

I've never used any of their dies, but I have some of their tools.
All quality.
