Cap and Ball - Conical Bullets
I have been shooting my three cap and ball replica pistols with round balls, 0.451" and 0.454":
Remington 1858 New Army 1847 Walker 1856 LeMat But I want to try conical bullets. Anyone recommend, or know, where to find conical bullets or molds for conical bullets for cap and ball pistols? Website URL's would be nice. JonS |

Another place...
Dixie Gunworks also has a couple of Conicals in their inventory. They have them in different calibers too!

The Lee REAL is a rifle bullet. Get the Lee conical for revolvers. It's tapered and loads very easily. http://www.cabelas.com/black-powder-...let-mold.shtml

Tried the Lee mold and bullets in my Ruger Old Army. Couldn't get near the accuracy of swaged round balls.

The LEE R.E.A.L. bullet in 45 cal might work for a ROA but you need to get the hard to find now discontinued 44 cal REAL that works fine in my Remingtons but I have not done any accuracy comparisons. It is a 200gr bullet and single cavity only. I would recommend the LEE double cavity 200 gr conical for a "thumper".

Buffalo Bullet Conical Black Powder Revolver Bullets
Arcticap, Thanks for the info on the Buffalo Bullet Conical revolver bullets
I got a box with a used bp revolver and I shot them up a month or so ago and really liked them. I didn't know where to find them and I googled the name and all I could find was that they are out of business. I was real surprised to see that they are available at Cabela's...I just ordered several boxes. I like'em... thanks... |

Back in Business!
You're welcome and I have good news.
The Buffalo Bullet Company is back in business. An employee recently posted about working there and how to contact them: Quote:
