Mauser 98 Bolt - Safety Engagment- it won't!

Mr. Saands wondering if you were able to determine the length of the cocking piece cylinder? AS I mentioned the one on this bolt Im having the problem with appears to be about .187 too long.
Im saying .187" too long because that is how far I have to continue to "cock" before the safety will rotate. Wondering if you were able to look at the ones you mentioned.
Ill be going to a gun show the 21st and should be able to do some comparing.
