Need load for .45 Colt
I have a zillion 185 grain H P jacketed bullets that I want to shoot through my Ruger (New Model) Blackhawk. I have looked high and low but to no avail for a load on this. I want something that will step and fetch it.
and we thank you for your support!

most important question:
Do your zillion bullets have a cannelure?

Load for .45 colt
Try www.loadbooks.com You can order the load book for .45 colt. I think they cost about $10.95 and have every bullet, every powder. For example, I use 185 gr. Sierra bullets, with Unique powder in my Uberti .45 colt. Starting load is 9.0 gr of Unique at 950 fps. Max load is 12 gr. at 1150 fps. There is no cannelure with these bullets, I did not roll crimp them and they work great. There are loads for cowboy shooting and loads for hunting.

I'm a cheap bas***d and I thought someone might have a load that they had heard of or something. It's just one load.
Thanks for the input though!

9 grains of Unique is great for plinking, and 10 grains of Unique combined with a hit in the region of the belt buckle will postpone hostilities indefinitely.

The closest I can get is I load .45LC using 185 Gr LSWC with 6Gr of Titegroup and had good luck with them.

Went out and shot the 13.5 grains of unique and it was all over the target. Good velocity though. (for all the good that is!!) Will try down loading tomorrow and see what happens. I'ld rather hit with 1200 fps as miss at 1400 fps!
