help me decide ?

I found a S&W model 37 used for sale and really like the gun a lot. It looks like a safe queen since there is no sign of wear on it anywhere, even the cylinder has minimal sign of burn rings in side it.
The problem is that the price is only 50.00 less than the price of a brand new air weight, but the new ones are not blued or anodized. The new ones are rated +P and this one isn't. The new ones are warranted longer I believe, this one has a one year warranty from the gun shop.
It would be mainly a summer time CC, My CC for winter time is either my model 19 with 4" barrel or a full size 1911
Would you guys buy it or spend the extra 50.00 and get a brand new one ?

The M37 is what I carry daily. I like the blued finish and that it was made before MIM and those stupid locks. The +P thing isn't really an issue for me. Regular .38spl is just fine. If you have found an excellent mint example, I would jump on it.

Buy the 37. A brand new Airweight is never going to be as good as the 37, new or used. I wouldn't buy an Airweight if it was $100 less than the 37. And 140 to 158 gr. standard .38 Spl. is all you need. Don't listen to the ultra light bullet +++P++ crowd. Practice until you are proficient with .38 Spl. loads and you will be well protected if you place it where it needs to go.

If I were doing the buying I would get the Model 37, very fine revolver in it's own right and well worth owning and carrying. And If you still want a new airweight you can pick one up later as money allows.

check the full model no. If it is a 37-3 then it is OK for +p ammo. Or call S&W if you're not sure. Otherwise it doesn't have the reinforment for +p.

If you going to CC it, it won't look like a safe Queen forever.

For shooting and for collecting the 37, for CC, a 637 hands down. And I own both and carry the new one. I even dropped it on the hard ground, and with a

"ooppps". No biggy it's just my carry gun.

The model 37 I looked at is an air weight.
