Lead/Plated in Polygonal Barrels

The local guy I buy my cast bullets from advertises a BH of 21, and I've loaded them up to some pretty hot levels using jacketed data in my revolvers with no leading. Is it still a bad idea to use cast bullets of that hardness in a polygonal barrel? Everything I've read is 50/50 on if lead is safe in these or not.

Also, if lead is still a no-go, can plated bullets be used? Not really sure the difference between plated and jacketed. Not really trying to cheap out anymore on 9mm, just wanna support my local guy if I can.

I use the plated Rainer bullets in different calibers. Use them in Glock. So far no problems with poly rifled barrels. Go to web Midwayusa and they have reloading data for the bullets.
