Primer sizes

Is there a list somewhere that shows what size cartridge goes with each size of primers small, large pistol, small and large rifle?

Any handloading manual will show the primer they use in each caliber.

Primer sizes

Thanks .. I was hoping someone had compiled a list of cartridges by primer size for a guick reference. Going through different reloading books, looking at the recommended primer and then trying to figure if is a small or large for several different rounds.... hmmmm just a thought.

Some cartridges may have different size primer pockets, one example is the 7.62x39, older Remington cases use small rifle primers where most are large, most 45 acp cases have large primer pockets but some have small primer pockets.
It's important to pay attention to your load data, some data may specify magnum primers and another may use standard primers for the same cartridge.
Assume nothing

I hope that you have a few reloading manuals. They provide specific combinations that worked for them with their test gun. And, all full size manuals have the cross reference as to what primers are what from each manufacturer save probably new brands on the scene ie Mag Tech and Wolf.
