Nylon 66 rifles were built with the action parts in the stock. You cannot just remove the stock. In over 30 years, I have never seen just the stock of a Nylon 66 offered for sale.

Scorch has had his head in the sand for 30 years obviously
These are no longer available from Remington even though they have a lifetime warranty
Remington will give you 75 dollars toward a 597 if you send them your parts You can find them on Ebay, Guns america & the other auction sites and at an occasional gun show I have transfered parts from old to a new replacement stock many times and have had remington pay me for what I paid for the NOS replacement stocks, As they do have an unconditional lifetime warranty on the stock But be prepared to spend 100 to 250 for a stock Farmritch Last edited by Farmritch; July 3, 2008 at 09:24 PM.
