There is a Gun Show at the Salt Palace this weekend.
If I may... I would humbly suggest that we have a little gathering. We could meet at the consession stand inside the show... Wear your TFL Shirts if you have them, If you dont have one - you can make one by copying the TFL logo and getting that Iron On printer kit and following the instructions. Meet Saturday, 2:00pm Tickets are 8 bucks... but good for BOTH DAYS now. I remember when the tickets were 3! Anyways... We have a couple newbies and lurkers who are attending and it would be very nice if they could be shown the ropes. One fellow is looking for a Mak to carry... I know we have a Mak expert in the TFL chapter... (HINT) If I'm not able to attend due to problems that may arrise - I would hope NOT to hear how great THIS show WAS! (Meaning dont rub it in)

Sorry guys, I can't make it either. Already got bunny hunting plans put together, this might be my last chance to go for a long time. Unless the temp drops to -5000 of course.

I'm expecting the cold snap.... I don't think we'll get snow though, going to be cold. I'm still hopefull it will wait till Sunday to come through.... Otherwise, the gun show is a good alternative.

I'll be there, though not at 2 PM. If any of you guys see me walking around in a black leather jacket and a ponytail looking confused, be sure to say hi.

So where was everyone?
I hung around the concession area for a good half hour and didn't recognize anyone. I was distraught. Fortunately the used-but-like-new (blank)&(blank) Mod 19 .357 that I found on the way out helped a little. Note to Ding: How tall are you? Only guy I saw in a leather jacket and pony tail was about 5'16". ps... Friendly advice. Don't ever get a deli dog with kraut from the food place. First time I've ever experienced kraut that had NO flavor. All it did was soggy the bun. Good thing I found that .357! |

I had waisted my time trying to get a Toyota Supra to start.
(Check the Supra link off the Racing section on my webpage... I think I'll be racing this car come April... Probably a 75% chance or better.) I was wanting to drive it up to the show. Having no functioning starter ended that in a heart beat. I'll be going there tomorrow... So, just in case a UT TFLer is there - look for a guy in a Navy Blue TFL shirt. Anyways... Sorry I missed it today. .357 huh? What kind?

Well, I showed up... at 4:45. It didn't make much sense to go in with 15 minutes until closing, so I went to Crown Burgers for a bite and drove back home.
I'll try to be there earlier tomorrow. I'm about 6'0", will be wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans, and a denim shirt. |

E mail me with the next meeting and I will try to attend. |

For what it's worth, this was the next to last gun show at he Salt Palace. The February show will be there and after that, April and beyond, will be at the new expo center out on south State street, just north of Jordan HS.
Free parking and closer for the southern guys, farther for the northerners. |

Well, I was there. Didn't see anybody in a TFL shirt, though.
Looked around a bit, found a new USP9 for $520. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford it. Also found someone selling a Russian Military Makarov thinking it was a Bulgarian Military Surplus for $150. Apparently Bulgarian Makarovs are better than East German and Russian Makarovs, and a lot better than Romanian and Czech versions of the pistol. I didn't say anything. All in all it was a good day, and I'll probably come to the February show too. |
