Ar 15's how many ?
How many AR 15's do you own ? Do you like having more than one or just have one good accurate one ?
If you have more than one but one is more accurate, how often do you shoot the other ones ? |

I only have 1 but that's the beauty of the 'platform'. If I felt the need to replace my 16" upper with something more along the lines of an SPR or longer distance shooter, only the upper needs to be replaced to accomplish this.

I have a 16" BCM carbine, ULW .22 LR, and am building a 20" A2. I'd rather have complete rifles than uppers to swap back and forth. Of course, I might build a couple uppers and then later when funds allow build lowers to complete them. I do like variety.

One, a recently acquired M&P 15 Sport, replaced the handguard with a magpul MOE, vertical grip, viking tactical flashlight mount and an Eotech. Perfect gun for range use and HD if ever needed. I love this gun, but can't see the need to buy another AR that will functionally be identical. I own a variety of guns because they are different or fill a specific niche, but I honestly don't understand the need to own or collect multiple ARs when they are all basically the same.

5 total counting two CMMG Quebec-A .22's. I only include them because they have multi caliber lowers, so they can accept any standard AR upper.

yes dear I know that looks just like our kitchen but I have no idea where all those guns came from. On a side note, I'm glad I don't have all of them in the photo. |

The only reason I could see is if one wanted one in a caliber that functioned completely differently then they're current, while still maintaining their familiarity with the platform. .22, 5.56, and 6.8/6.5/300BO are the three alternatives i think of immediately

Bought my first because it was cheap and I didn't really think I'd get into ARs. How wrong I was. Then I built my second one. |

I have a couple of pre ban Colts, a 223 and a 7.62 x39. A couple of .22 variants just for fun,and I am in the process of building 2 more. Most likely in .223 caliber. As for those folks who only have one,my hat is off to you and your willpower.

I have 3 one in 300BLK and 2 in 5.56 a 20" M-16 and a 16" M4forgy, I also have a 4th lower built as a precision lower with a Timmy trigger and a Magpul PRS stock. I wouldn't get rid of any of them.

River National Match that I use for shooting open sights in service matches, and then also a couple of carbine length rifles that I use for sport, competition, and defensive shooting. Another thing that's nice about multiple AR's is the option of running totally different optic setups from fixed open sights on the National Match to reflex sights, 1x4's, and BUIS on the carbine sized guns to variable power scopes and no BUIS on the varmint and benchrest guns. So there are lots of reasons to have different AR's that are not at all the same. Another really nice thing about this too is that you then have guns configured in different ways for different needs, but it's all one platform on which you can train and become especially proficient. This is why I love the AR platform so much! |

One 20" flattop set up with a scope for multi-range tactical shooting. One 20" flattop set up with a scope for deer hunting. One 20" flattop set up with a EOTech for 3-gun shooting. One 20" flattop set up with a red dot and flashlight for pig hunting. One 20" flattop as a back up. One 20" A2 for service rifle shooting. One 20" A2 just for plinking. Two Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22s just for fun. |

2 and I just ordered 2 stripped lowers. I had no idea how addicting the AR world could be when I brought my 1st AR home.
