New Leupold VX-3

Anyone had any experience with the new Leupold VX-3's?
I am looking at a 2.5-8 and wonder if the VX-III's on clearance for around $350 is the better deal vs the approx $430 for the new and "improved" VX-3's.

I bought a 6.5 x 20 VX-III, long range with side focus and have been very happy with it. I like the side focus because you can adjust it without reaching out to the A/O. The reticle turrets are short and finger adjustable, no coins needed, which is great. It's also shorter than most A/O scopes.

The price you mention for a VXlll is a great price and you certainly will not find a better scope for less. I own several. That said, the current closeout deal at Natchez for the Weaver extreme classic, 2.5 x 10 x 50 with a 30mm tube for $299 is a better deal. I picked one in the 1.5 x 4.5 and one in the 2.5 x 10 x 50 and all I can say is "wow". Very clear, heavy duty, illuminated and 30mm.
