Can we get a picture?
One thing is that it most likely has a Damascus barrel meaning you would NOT want to use, nor would it be safe to use modern shotgun shells from your local Wal Mart.

I suggest you ask the folks at http://doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php
Their specialty is collecting and shooting antique Damascus barreled shotguns. I can tell you from my own experience that the shotgun you have was probably not made by the famous Mantons. Although if made in England, it could be a very high quality fake.

Manton & co
trade name on belgium shotguns 1900. Not to be confused with joseph manton manton joseph & son arms makers in london england 1835. Before then it was joseph manton est 1795. He maintained a calcutta india branch from 1840-1877 yours seems to fall into the latter hjn |
