info on manton dubbel barrel

i have an old dubbel barrel with exposed hammers the only thing it says on it is between the barrels manton lundon fine damascus.does any one have any info please.

UPDATE: we did find Proof marks on bottom side of barrels, that indicate gun was made in Birmingham.

still need any info you can give me. thanks

One thing is that it most likely has a Damascus barrel meaning you would NOT want to use, nor would it be safe to use modern shotgun shells from your local Wal Mart.

Their specialty is collecting and shooting antique Damascus barreled shotguns.

I can tell you from my own experience that the shotgun you have was probably not made by the famous Mantons. Although if made in England, it could be a very high quality fake.

trade name on belgium shotguns 1900. Not to be confused with joseph manton

manton joseph & son
arms makers in london england 1835. Before then it was joseph manton est 1795. He maintained a calcutta india branch from 1840-1877

yours seems to fall into the latter
