Hawke Varmint II

Hi,
I have brought myself a second hand Hawke Varmint II scope,
I have mounted it on my gun and wanted to practise range finding with the Mildots, but I have no idea what zoom the dots are set on, I guessed it would be on 10x zoom but the range calculations didn't seem to be right, it seemed about right on 8x zoom but that seems like a weird zoom to have it on.
Its a 3-12x zoom scope.

Does anyone know what range they'd be set on?

I have the same scope. I think the info your looking for should be on Hawkes website and its based on caliber. I would have to look at my OM
