sight rail for m1a1

i need to find a scope mount for an M1A1 for cheap the only one ive found in a store was at gander mtn. for like $100

Since the M1A1 is just a folding stocked M1 Carbine, any rail made to fit the M1 carbine should fit the M1A1.

Have you lurked around on ebay? I recently scored a very nice Picatinny scope rail for my M1A for $25. When it arrived it seemed to be a first edition of the rail because I needed to do some slight machining of the clip bracket so the bolt would rotate up and out. But, once I had that figured out I'm very happy with the mount - especially the price. I called Springfield about it and the gent confirmed that earlier versions prevented the bolt removal - so I went ahead and cut mine back.
