Redding scale arm bouncing alot, Is this common with them?

I have a Redding #2 scale and it seems that it bounces alot and gives me this problem all the time. Even if the slightest breeze is around, It will bounce. Is there anything missing or a way to help this or is it just the nature of this scale?

Don't quite know what you mean with "bouncing a lot" but ANY sensitive scale will move with wind currents.

The Redding No. 2 scale is magnetically dampened to help somewhat, but as Wncchester posted, that is the nature of a sensitive scale. That is also why laboratory balance beam scales are enclosed in glass housings to prevent breeze interference with weighing objects accurately. The use of a wind block (piece of cardboard) to eliminate wind/breeze interference with the scale when in use may help some.

Yep..They are all right.
My rcbs 10-10 scale will " Bounce around" if there is any breeze at all.
AND...So will the electronic scales. I have the rcbs 1500 scale and it will not be stable with a slight draft. But it has a cover to help with that, and it does help.

I'm building a new reloading shop and that is top on my list...where will I put the a/c to keep a breeze off my scales.!
Man...The things reloaders have to put up with :-)

I solved the problem and went out and bought a Dillon Eliminator. What a difference! I still love my Redding stuff but I insist on having the best measuring tools I can afford and the Dillon was in my budget. I also had an Ohaus M5 that was great and super accurate.

Old proverb: A man with a watch always knows what time it is. A man with two watches never does.
