Barnes dry film lubricant
What is the lubricant on the VLC and XLC bullets? is it the same as moly, or more importantly, does it do the same things as moly?

I'm not sure what the coating actually is, but it's not moly in the traditional sense. It does however share the same virtues of moly coating. I believe it was originally introduced to help with the fouling problems, and the pressure, sometimes associated with the X-bullet. Personally, the only difference I've noted is the need to "foul" the barrel with 2 or 3 of the coated bullets before I got acceptable accuracy with them. It made a tremendous difference in the rifle I tried them in. Overall, the coating seems to do the job it was intended to do. I'm sure individual rifles may react differently to them.
