SA M1 A loaded problems
Just bought a loaded SA M1 A. I sighted it in and 46 rounds in to my first range session the exractor broke, didn't pop out it broke in half. I replaced it with a PB extractor and it runs like a champ. Has anyone else had this happen. Seems like the extractor is the weak link. Kinda sucks with a $1600 gun.

I have one with about 2300 rounds through it and have had no problems.
I am guessing you just got a bad extractor. Hope you don't have any more issues. They are great rifles.

The extractor, especially non-USGI extractors can be a problem.
Make sure the rifle is greased up, install a USGI extractor and rock on.

Ya the PB extractor seemed to do the trick. Its a great rifle, fit and finish is top notch. I hope I have no more problems. Guy I work with has a Polytech with thousnds of rounds through it. Never let him down.

Unreliable extractors was plagued SAI for years. First upgrade should be a USGI extractor.
