There are several gun safes that have a cable to secure it to a seat brace in the vehicle. I have a gunvault for each of my vehicles and they serve their purpose. I have been using them for about four years. Look on Amazon and they have an assortment, the ones I use are the NV300.

How much room do you have to mount a good quality handgun safe? Look at the ones with a mechanical push button lock. They are 14ga steel up to 7ga steel and would be pretty secure if you have the space.

Take a look at Vline, Ft Knox, Titan, and FAS1. They all use variations of this lock and are all quite a bit stronger than the most popular cabled 21ga box. I understand that many people think they are better than nothing or don't have the room for something better. Even one of the Console Vaults would be stronger and I'm sure they make one for the F150. Of course, none of these options are $35.00 either

Got mine from Best Top for my JK Wrangler. Bolts under the factory seat mounts. Tuffy is another brand that makes model specific safes for vehicles.
